The research deals with the study of the relations between the United States of America and the Soviet Union, which witnessed great tension, especially after the end of World War II in 1945, and their emergence as two superpowers that affected the events of the world in general.

The Soviet Union wanted to impose its socialist theory on many countries of the world.

On the other hand, the United States tried to impose its hegemony on the capitalist countries of the world.

The specific period of the research from 1961-1973 witnessed many events that contributed to the tension in relations between the two countries, and each of them tried to impose his control over the world.

The arms race, brandishing and threatening to use nuclear and atomic weapons are among the most important features of this period, as many problems and turmoil emerged between the two countries.

The conclusion of the first SALT agreement in which both parties tried to avoid military confrontation and the problems of the Middle East, the most important of which were the June War of 1967 and the October War of 1973 between Egypt and Israel Dialogue and discussion of important issues, including nuclear disarmament and the prevention of any future nuclear war between the two countries.
