The role of vitamin D on mental health

The concept of mental health evolved from the psychiatriac setting to a much wider field of study and work.

While Vitamin D is not a new substance in the field of general medicine, its role in many diseases in medicine is gaining greater interest in specialist branches of medicine, including psychiatry where research on this topic is also increasing.

Over the past 25 years, a growing body of literature has been published on this topic.

The current review will examine research on the link between Vitamin D and mental health as a way to update what is understood in the context of psychiatry.
