خلفية الدراسة : تعتبر الاضطرابات النفسية مشكلة صحية مجتمعية واسعة الطيف في العراق و في تصاعد مستمر يحتل عامل الفرق بين الجنسين أهمية بارزة في تحديد نسب التعرض و الإصابة بالأمراض النفسية باختلاف أنواعها و درجاتها و أعراضها السريرية.
الهدف : تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى بيان عامل الاختلاف بين الجنسين في الاصابة الاضطرابات النفسية الشائعة في العراق عن طريق تحديد و تحليل أكثرها شيوعا المراضة و في البحث العلمي كما و نوعا.
في طريقة البحث خلال شهري كانون الثاني وشباط من العام 2022، تم استعراض محركات البحث العلمية المعتمدة و المستوعبات العالمية للدوريات مع المواقع العنكبوتية للمجلات المفهرسة العالمية و العربية و العراقية باستعمال الكلمات المفتاحية بدأ بالعراق"، المراضة، الجوانب الديموغرافية، كذلك ستة أنواع من الأمراض النفسية البارزة نتج عن البحث 168 بحث ذو صله بالموضوع، تمت استعادة و تمحيص 53 مقالة منشورة في المجلات و الدوريات المفهرسة عالميا و محليا، و التي أبرزت عامل الاختلاف بين الجنسين بشكل واضح و تأثيره على البالغين العراقيين.
النتائج والاستنتاج : أظهرت هذه الدراسة الاسترجاعية وجود نسب اعلى للإصابة بالاكتئاب، القلق، و الأفكار أو المحاولات الانتحارية لدى النساء ما هو عليه في الرجال بينما تبلغ نسب الإصابة باضطرابات تعاطي المشروبات الكحولية والمواد المخدرة لدى الرجال أضعاف ما هو عليه لدى النساء لوجود الروادع الدينية و الاجتماعية بشكل أبرز لدى النساء و لكن الفرق بين الجنسين تضاءل في نسب المراضة بالاضطرابات الذهانية و بالأخص الفصام العقلي و اضطراب الوسواس القهري.
استنتجت هذه الدراسة إلى أن للنساء الحصة الأكبر في الإصابة بالأمراض النفسية، كونهن أكثر هشاشة و تعرضا للظروف المحيطية السلبية خلال العقود الأخيرة تدعو هذه الورقة إلى أجراء مزيد من الأبحاث الإحصائية و الوطنية لسد الثغرة المعلوماتية الحاصلة حاليا.
Abstract EN
Background: Mental disorders are a growing public health concern in Iraq.
Gender is important in defining susceptibility and exposure to many mental health problems in variable clinical presentations.
Objective: The current review aims to identify, appraise, and synthesize available evidence on gender disparity in the prevalence of Iraq's most common and most frequently studied mental disorders.
Method: From 1st January to 30th February 2022, the following search engines were explored: PsycINFO, PubMed, Clarivate, Embase, Google Scholar.
Keywords used were prevalence of mental disorders, gender disparity, gender differences, psychiatric morbidity, and the titles of the six most common mental disorders.
Of 168 research items that matched the keywords, 53 full text articles were reviewed to determine gender differences among adults with mental health difficulties in Iraq.
Results: Pooled analyses showed a high prevalence of depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts and attempts in women.
In contrast, alcohol and substance use were higher in men compared with women due to religious and cultural taboos, with comparable gender differences in psychosis, including schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
The finding variation is due to different screening instruments, times, and surroundings.
Conclusion: Women experienced the greater burden of mental disorders being vulnerable and exposed to life adversities, especially during the last decades.
There is a need for further studies to address an existing knowledge gap in the literature.
