Abstract EN

This research presents a comparison in the approach followed in the interpretation of a Surah of the Qur’an concerned with belief, between two sciences of exegesis, which have an indispensable explanatory wealth for the student of exegesis.

The comparative study is concerned with the criticism of texts, as the more lively the text is and capable of multiple readings, the more there is the presence of the comparative study.

It has emerged through the study that the two imams adhered to the approach that they took for themselves, and they agreed on many issues such as the occasions between the surahs, the interpretation of the aphorisms of the saying, the scientific honesty in transmission, the attribution of sayings to those who said them, and the lack of digression and deviation from the line of interpretation.

It turns out that Imam al-Qurtubi is more quantitative and qualitative and delves into issues of language than Imam Ibn Kathir, and if this consensus indicates something, it indicates that the chain of interpreters (may God have mercy on them) is compatible with its thought and implications, because its source is one and that is its dependence on the two revelations.

It turns out that these two interpretations are an important wealth for the science of exegesis and for every student of knowledge, since the science of exegesis is the door to understanding the words of God (glory be to Him) by which the world and religion are good.
