Abstract EN

The voltage stability is very important term in power system stability.

This work, study the impact of the connection point of generator to the electrical network on voltage stability.

The case study used in this work is the Libyan eastern network that suffer from load shedding due to voltage instability.

Even though the new generation unit connected at Tobruk power station, the northeastern region still suffer from the voltage instability.

Due to the cold weather during the winter season, the load demand increase which leads to voltage collapse.

The NEPLAN software is used to model and analysis the network, switchgears, transformers, 220 KV stations and lines had modeled to do the power flow analysis.

The impact of this gas-generation unit connection point on the voltage at four different 220 KV buses in the network was tested.

Moreover, the study found the best bus that the unit to be connected is at Al-Bayda bus bar.

In addition, the station require gas pipeline, which also used for domestics purposes that could reduce the customers electrical bills.

In this proposal the generation close to the customer side that is similar to distributed generation idea.
