Abstract EN

The research aims to prepare a questionnaire to measure test anxiety, using the self-report method, and to check its psychometric characteristics, and determine its level among students of the Faculty of Education, Zagazig University students.

The problem of the research was stated in the following questions: “1.

Does the test anxiety questionnaire (total score; sub-scales; items) have acceptable indicators of consistency?", “2.

what is the level of test anxiety (total score, sub-scales) among students of the Faculty of Education, Zagazig University?” and “3.

What are the components of test anxiety that are most common among students of the Faculty of Education, Zagazig University?” The research participants consisted of 217 students in the fourth year of the Faculty of Education, Zagazig University.

A questionnaire was prepared to measure the test anxiety.

Using the factor analysis, Alfa Kronbach coefficient, t test for one sample, and t test for correlated samples, the results showed that the test anxiety questionnaire consists of three factors: Cognitive test anxiety, emotional test anxiety and physiological test anxiety.

The questionnaire has acceptable psychometric properties (for item score, the components score and the total score).

This shows that it is valid and applicable in various fields of education and psychology.

The results showed that the participants’ levels of text anxiety and its components are low, and the most prevalent components of tes anxiety among participants are: the emotional test anxiety followed by cognitive test anxiety and then physiological test anxiety.
