Abstract EN

Democratic education is one of the important issues in Egyptian contemporary society.

In light of the local and global threats & challenges, society needs to educate young people on a culture of pluralism and contrast to build a personality who is able to practice democratic behavior in all her social relations.

The educational process suffers from imbalances in the democratic educational approach, which are represented in: the absence of a language of dialogue within the educational and educational process, the absence of ‘effective participation in setting educational plans, programs and activities, and the weakness of images of social justice in the level and quality of education provided for most classes of societ,.

Hence, the present research aimed at explaining the nature of democratic education in the thought of one of those concerned with this issue, Professor Hamid Ammar.

The research used the descriptive method.

The handle of the current topic was based on explaining the principles of democratic education, its components, manifestations, obstacles and prospects in Hamed Ammar’s thought.

The research reached a set of results, which focused on consolidating the elements of a culture of democratic education and social justice in the hearts of its students, administrators and teachers, Opening horizons of intellectual diversity and bringing together individual and group work, respecting differences in visions, creating mutual dialogue between all parties to the educational process, avoiding imposing ideas specific of the highest authority without open discussions, and without resorting to rational, democratic dialogue.

The research presented a set of recommendations - through which - democratic education can be achieved now and in the future.
