This research paper aims to study the reality of women during armed conflicts and the flagran violation of their rights and steadily degrading their dignity, as large-scale acts of violence are committed against them, and thousands of women and girls are raped within the framework of a systematic strategy, therefore, the international community has sought to protect them and criminalize sexual violence, through the Geneva conventions of 1949 and their additional protocols, which explicitly provide for: prohibition of all forms of sexual violence against women, including rape and forced prostitution, the security council also established international criminal courts to try war criminals, where these acts were classified as war crimes and crimes against humanity.

moreover, Islamic jurisprudence guaranteed them the necessary protection, and took precedence in prohibiting sexual violence and considering it a heinous crime fourteen centuries ago.
