Abstract EN

This paper discusses the problems of conditional constructions in Arabic and attempts to provide a critical approach to grammarians' view of the linguistic model of this field of study, taking their grammatical disagreement and their different grammatical reasoning as a starting point for investigating and identifying the impact of grammatical disagreement and differences in reasoning of grammatical rules on the efficacy of the grammatical lesson, and whether it is arbitrary imposed on the linguistic system that has made grammar something more like logic, which has made it complicated and arbitrary as some ancient and modern scholars have said, or whether it has been necessary for the construction of Arabic grammatical theory with its comprehensive code and they did not set forth their rules randomly.

The paper has come up with some findings which indicate that grammatical reasoning and interpretation is consistent with the most established modern western linguistic theories which concluded that the interpretation of linguistic phenomena, and not description alone, is the optimal aspect of linguistic studies of languages in general, and that Arab grammarians, in allowing rules as they are, revealed that they pioneered linguistic analysis, but this elegant work, though high standing and distinctive, had some defects, as some of them sometimes provided implausible or far-fetched interpretations, and at other times some confusion and contradiction were observed in their interpretations.
