Abstract EN

The interest in studying the nature of the relationship between the psychological variables of married couples and their sons and daughters is an essential matter that results in the development of families and
societies.

The appropriate climate in the family is the main source for the success of its members, whether at the level of the relationship of the married couples together, or the relationship of parents to their adolescents.

The present study aimed to explore the differences between married couples in some psychological variables such as creative thinking, emotional regulation, and family problem solving.

The study aimed also to disclosure of the extent contribution of creative thinking and emotional regulation in predicting family problem solving for married couples.

In addition to explore the extent contribution of creative thinking, emotional regulation, and family problem solving between married couples in predicting the academic excellence and negligence behavior for their adolescents sons.

The researcher used comparative correlation descriptive method.

The study sample included (198) husbands and wives, whose ages ranged between 40: 61, and 34: 60 years, respectively.

The sample included also (99) of their sons and daughters at the university, whose ages range between 19: 22 years.

The percentage of adolescents who excelled academically was 43.6% , compared to 56.4% of adolescents were not excelled academically.
