Abstract EN

In the absence of accurate and actual statistics on women's crimes in Algerian society, and the scarcity of studies that dealt with this topic, this study comes in order to determine the reality of the criminal behavior of this phenomenon by analyzing the content of what was published in the weekly "al-Khabarhawadat" specialized in crime news.

in order to draw a comprehensive framework for the crimes committed by women, which imposed themselves on the pages of the newspaper, in order to know the motives for their exacerbation in terms of quantity, type, means used, and method of implementation.

the study concluded that criminality as a reprehensible social phenomenon is no longer confined to males only, but also to females, and what was forbidden to the boy, the girl does with all boldness and ugliness, defying social norms.

this phenomenon has expanded to the point that some women have become crowded with men in several types of crimes with a difference in quantity, as a result of sudden and rapid social change, conflicting obligations of women's social roles, poverty, domestic violence and others.

thus, in our research, we revealed the reality of female criminal behavior in Algeria, and its motives at the same time.

we are thus trying to draw a relatively clear picture of the phenomenon, enabling us to anticipate it and contribute to limiting it.
