Abstract EN

In this study, we shed light on the physics laboratories at some Algerian middle and high schools from the teachers' point of view.

the study was conducted on a sample of 129 teachers in many districts.

we adopted the descriptive approach and we used a questionnaire of three main axes as a tool for collecting data.

the results showed that the experience and the academic qualification of teachers play an important role in the evaluation process of standards and quality conditions of laboratories; also results show a different view among teachers due to the variable of experience, as well, less than 11% of teachers give a chance to their students to explain the experiments.

furthermore, more than 50% of teachers view that it is difficult to control students inside the laboratory.

interestingly, more than 45% of teachers did not receive any training to do the experiments in the curriculum, and more than 74% did not explain to their students the dangers of chemicals.

on the other hand, we find that 45% of laboratories do not contain computers, and a few teachers use technological tools in their experiments.

the study ended with many recommendations, most notably; in service training teachers to use computers and various equipment of the laboratory, too using computer simulation techniques to realize difficult or dangerous experiments.
