تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى التحقق من التناوب اللغوي بين معلمي اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية في قاعة الدرس.
تهدف الدراسة أيضا إلى معرفة مدى تأثير المستوى الجامعي أي السنة الأولى و الثانية و الثالثة و الرابعة) على استخدام المدرس للتحويل اللغوي و اختياراتهم.
تم تحليل أنواع التحويل اللغوي إلى 1L أي اللغة العربية المستخدمة من قبل المعلمين ذكورا و إناثا في دروس اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية حيث تم تحليلها و مناقشتها من الناحية الكمية و النوعية، و هذه الأنواع هي : جملة تامة (Sentential)، و في حدود الجمل (Intersentential) و في وسط الجملة (Intrasentential) .
كما حللت الدراسة أيضا استبانة شملت ردود ۱۰۲ من معلمي و معلمات اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية و بالإضافة إلى تحليل مقابلات شخصية ل ٢٥ منهم لاستكشاف أسباب التناوب اللغوي.
و قد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن المعلمين يستخدمون التناوب اللغوي إلى العربية بشكل متكرر، كما أن هذا التناوب يختلف في النوع بحسب درجة إتقان الطلاب للغة الإنجليزية.
و كشفت الدراسة أيضا أن المدرسين يستخدمون التناوب اللغوي من العربية إلى الإنجليزية لتحقيق عدد من الأهداف و الوظائف.
و خلصت هذه الدراسة إلى بعض التطبيقات التربوية المترتبة على تدريس اللغة الإنجليزية في سياقات اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية، كما اقترحت استخدام بعض التقنيات و الإستراتيجيات، و أداة مهمة في تدريس اللغات الأجنبية تم استنتاجها من نتائج هذه الدراسة.
و ختاما اقترحت الدراسة القيام بمزيد من الجهود البحثية في هذا المجال من خلال ملاحظة المدرسين وطلابهم فيما يتعلق باستخدام التناوب اللغوي في القاعات الدراسية للغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية.
Abstract EN
This study aims at investigating code switching among EFL instructors in the English language classes.
The study also aims to find out the extent of the impact of university level (i.e., 1st, 2nd, 3rd- and 4th year) on instructor's using of code-switching and their choice.
Code switching types to L1 (i.e., Arabic) made by male and female instructors in EFL classes were analyzed and discussed quantitatively and qualitatively, namely, sentential, intersentential, and intrasentential.
The study also investigated 102 EFL male and female instructors' responses to a questionnaire and 25 male and female instructors' responses to interview (Structured Interview) to discover the reasons for code switching to L1 in their EFL classrooms.
The findings of the study showed that instructors switch to Arabic frequently, and instructors' switches differ in type depending on the degree of English proficiency of EFL students.
The study also disclosed that instructors switch from Arabic to English to carry out several functions.
The present study concluded with some implications for the teaching of English in the EFL contexts., technique, strategy, and a significant tool in teaching foreign languages which were drawn from the findings of this study.
Further research can be carried out by observing instructors and their students concerning the use of code switching in EFL classrooms.
