Abstract EN

This article presents a micromorphological study by reflection microscopy of some archaeological irons extracted from the roman site of Trois Îlots located in the city of Cherchell in Algeria.

the study was oriented in particular towards the characterization of the corrosion system and these aspects, in order to obtain elements of understanding of the factors which control it, as well as to respond to conservation issues concerning the progress of corrosion in the ferrous objects and the presence of chloride phases likely to cause resumption of post-excavation corrosion.

the results obtained will therefore make it possible to better direct the necessary stabilization and prevention interventions for all the archaeological remains at the Trois Îlots site.
