thus, we can navigate between websites and sources of information, access databases and libraries scattered around the world and obtain information and files.

but these positive developments have led some to abuse them, which has contributed to the emergence of new crimes, the issue of privacy is one of the most important ethical issues associated with the use of electronic technology.

this led us to research the ethics of information by posing the following problem: what is privacy? and how has the digitization of data and information threatened it? and if one of the most important characteristics of the information society is freedom of access to information, how can the right to privacy be reconciled with the right to free access to information?
