Abstract EN

This descriptive study was applied to 8 dyslexic children, for the purpose of measuring the correlation between the deficit of phonological awareness and the level of accuracy in reading in the “Madrasati el-Habiba” reading test, by the coefficient of Pearson correlation.

the results showed that the relationship is inverse between the performance results of the phonological awareness test and the number of reading errors (r = -0.555), that is, the more the performance on the phonological is weak; the higher the number of errors, therefore the level of accuracy in reading is lower.

and also the results showed that there is a partial correlation between awareness of the syllable number and the number of errors in reading, and that there is no correlation or affect between the syllable order with the errors in reading.
