Abstract EN

This study aims to analyze the reality of the activities and content of civic education curricula in Algeria for the intermediate stage, in terms of types, numbers and distribution, as well as a comparison between the contents of books in terms of dealing with the concept of citizenship and the extent of its embodiment, and standing on the reality of citizenship education in the Algerian school.

it also aims at a qualitative analysis of the content of the textbook, with the aim of identifying the level of pupils' representation of the concept of citizenship.

by analyzing the content of the books, we conclude that they dealt with the concept of citizenship at a great level, by expressing it with a set of educational competencies and the educational values that it embodies, and through a variety of content.
