Abstract EN

This article aims to examine the problem of identity in the countries of the Maghreb, by monitoring its manifestations in the poetry of modern poets from the region.

this work came for several considerations, most notably the Maghreb peoples’ sharing of the common constants that shape identity from language, ethnicity and religion.

these elements were worked by the poets to consolidate them in the conscience, after they realized the anti-colonial desire to dominate the national, cultural and linguistic spirit of the people of the region, and work to fuse it into its western culture.
