Reading is the new and old topic that constantly imposes itself due to the importance of the read material in human life, as reading did not settle on a single reading of the literary text, but rather multiplied into several readings with different perceptions.

this diversity was thanks to the emergence of modern curricula and theories, which contributed to bringing the goals of the literary text closer.

in this regard, we have tried to present the experience of the Algerian critic Habib Mounsi, who was able to make the reading act a procedural act in all its orbits, which we believe embodied this trend not only in Algerian criticism, but in Arab criticism in general, through a group of critical literature, especially in his critical author: "reading theories in contemporary Arab criticism".
