Abstract EN

This study examines the narrative structure of the Algerian film "Les Suspects" (2004), directed by Kamal Dehane, exploring themes of identity, social conflict, and cultural representation.

It uses various narrative devices such as flashbacks, dreams, and multiple points of view to create a nuanced and complex portrayal of these themes, highlighting that the film's narrative structure plays a significant role in exploring them and contributing to a deeper understanding of Algerian society.

The film examines how the characters struggle with their sense of self and cultural identity in the face of discrimination and societal pressure, and how it portrays the systemic violence and inequality faced by marginalised communities in Algeria.
