Foreign policy tools are among the most important topics that the field of international relations is interested in studying and analyzing.

these tools are what enable countries to achieve foreign policy goals.

the issue of economic sanctions comes as the most prominent of these "punitive" tools that some countries adopt to achieve their external goals and subject opponents to adopt policies compatible with the policies of the countries imposing these sanctions.

in this research, the implementation of this tool in foreign policy in general and in US foreign policy in particular was studied and analyzed, and the mechanism of legislation and implementation of these sanctions in the US system was studied and the most prominent countries that were imposed on us economic sanctions.

economic sanctions have been widely used as a tool of US foreign policy, which bases its implementation at various levels on the elements of its economic, financial, military and propaganda power, and its international influence.

these penalties are legislated and implemented through several institutions, each with its own powers and roles, as a group of institutions such as the presidency and its executive institutions such as the ministry of treasury, foreign affairs, defense, trade, justice and others, as well as the congress that issues the necessary legislation and laws to impose these penalties, participate in this.
