Abstract EN

The development that affected the media, and contributed to its spread, made the protection of private life, including the right to image, an important topic.

Because technological development has made it easier to take pictures, publish and use them, this made the image dominate the public space through the various media, without taking into account the sanctity of private life and the protection of individuals, which exposed these rights to abuse.

This development thus contributed to the process of assaulting those rights, which made them pose a danger and a flagrant violation of the secrets of individuals and the violation of their privacy without prior permission, and thus inflicted direct and significant damage to freedoms and rights, so that the attack became at every moment and in every place without observing the law and its guarantees.

The main question of this research revolves around: the adequacy and efficiency of legal texts in Libya to govern electronic publishing and prevent attacks on the right to image.
