تتناول هذه الدراسة العلاقة بين ممارسات القوة الناعمة وصناعة السمة الوطنية باعتبارها جزءا من تصدير الهوية الوطنية، و أداة طيعة تستخدمها الدول في تحقيق أهداف السياسة الخارجية.
فـي هـذا الإطار، تسلط الـدراسـة الضوء على ملف استضافة قطر بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم 2022، في محاولة لفهم مساعي الدولة في توظيف الرياضة لتحقيق أهداف اجتماعية و سياسية مختلفة.
و هي تبحث في الدوافع والرؤى التي دفعت صانع القرار القطـري إلى الاستثمار الهائـل فـي استضافة هذا الحدث عبر تصدير هوية عالم-محلية، قائمة على المزج بين بعدين، أولهما عالمي يؤكد على المواكبة و التطور، و ثانيهما محلي يدفع نحـو المحافظة على خصوصية البلد و تقاليده و تسليط الضوء على تاريخه.
تركز الدراسة، على نحو خاص، على جانب الهندسة المعمارية للملاعب الرياضية باعتبارها تجليا لعمارة القوة الناعمة، و أحد أساليب تصدير هوية وطنية قطرية عالم-محلية.
Abstract EN
This study investigates the use of sports in promoting national identity.
It explores how the intersection between soft power and nation branding helps shape and project national identity, and how this can be leveraged to further foreign policy goals.
The study examines Qatar's hosting of the 2022 World Cup in an attempt to understand the country's efforts to harness sport in pursuing social and political goals.
It looks into the motivations behind Qatar's substantial investment in this event and its projections of a unique "glocal" identity that blends the nation's global aspirations with its local heritage and history.
Additionally, the study focuses on the architecture of sport stadiums as tangible representations of soft power and a means of promoting Qatar's glocal identity.
