Abstract EN

A study that relies on the descriptive analytical approach as practice based research to implement different formulations of works that depend on pointillism as a practical approach to it.

this research tries to find the meaning of pointillism as a technique to turn into the field of printmaking, which is reflected in the impression and understanding of the viewers to contribute to a higher level of innovation and to move away from the traditional artistic narrative within the artwork.

through one semester of 26 students specializing in art education at the college of basic education in Kuwait, the experiment was explained and implemented in this research in terms of the theoretical aspect.

the researcher went through the history of pointillism in order for the students to understand the aesthetic meaning and its color theory to create colors dynamically besides using these famous artworks in preparation for the practical implementation stage, which focuses on the pointillism construction of the elements in the Van Gogh's artwork they choose as a model.

on the practical side, the researcher believes that the pointillism technique has a great depth and impact in creating a new style if it is implemented with non-traditional tools, like the brushes, because of its flexibility and the hard tools can add a new effect of the colors of the surface, taking new curve for pointillism with the pressing cooper & pottery tools can make less control over the dots on the surface of the cardboard, to create a new pattern in pointillism, some of which depend on constructing layers, and some of them depend on constructing single layer, but with different sizes of dots, in addition to the organized structure, which depends on an organized layer to the dots when filling the spaces in the artwork, and that study results in pointillism artworks with a new concept and color theory, presenting the works of the artist Van Gogh in a different way, raising the students' taste in the art after all.
