Abstract EN

The research aims to conduct a comparative study between two methods for teaching the basic pattern of the women's corsage, the most common "Profili" method and the drafting method using the "smart pattern tool", through application to the research sample and then doing statistical treatment and comparing the results to find out the best drafting method for the basic pattern of the women’s corsage in terms of the quality parameters related to adjusting the lines of the drafting pattern and the time spent until the completion of the drafting process.

to achieve this, the researcher followed the descriptive and analytical approach, as well as the semi-experimental approach, in applying it to the intentional research sample consisting of (169) male and female students who are students in the fourth year of the department of home economics and education, faculty of home economics, Menoufia university.

the tests were applied within the course "coats" (b) in the second semester of the academic year 2022-2023, and the research tools consisted of a set of skill tests to draft the basic pattern of the women's corsage according to the two drafting methods under study, observation cards were also used before, during, and after the experiment to record all observations for use in making statistical treatments and extracting results.

the comparison results showed the superiority of the drafting method using the "smart pattern tool" over the "Profili" method in terms of quality control parameters for drafting outlines and the total time consumed to complete the drafting process.

The researcher recommends the necessity of preparing more studies with different methods for drafting patterns to complement the research topic and benefit from those results in developing the clothing and textile industries and improving the educational process.
