Abstract EN

The current research aims to reveal the relationship between the practices of women heads of household for smart consumption and its relationship to family stability.

the research sample consisted of (298) heads of families of different social and economic levels (working and non-working) and have children.

the researcher prepared a preliminary data form for the family, a questionnaire of the practices of the housewife towards smart consumption, a questionnaire of family stability, and the field application of the research tools was done for a period of three months in the period from 10 / 25 / 2022 to 1 / 24 / 2023, and the research followed the descriptive analytical approach.

classification and tabulation of data and the use of statistical methods in the SPSS 21 program, and the results of the current research resulted in a positive, statistically significant relationship at the level of significance (0.01) between the total sum of the household’s practices towards smart consumption and all dimensions of family stability (psychological-social-economic) and their total sum.

a set of recommendations, the most important of which was the recommendation of those in charge of developing home economics curricula to include topics related to climate change, its causes, methods of adaptation to it and overcoming its effects through the practice of smart consumption of goods and services to reduce waste in environmental resources, activating the role of civil society institutions, national centers for women and guidance centers and family guidance through the preparation of counseling and educational programs and holding training courses for heads of household organized by the bodies concerned with women’s affairs such as the national council for women and the centers for family guidance and counseling to develop awareness of smart consumption in order to preserve family resources from waste and reduce consumption expenses for the family, which reflects on the family positively and supports the achievement of her family stability in light of the conditioning consumption expenses for the family, which reflects positively on the family and supports the achievement of family stability for it in under adaptation with the crisis of climate change.
