Abstract EN

The study aims to assess the extent to which Libyan Islamic banks adhere to the rules and regulations of Sharia work.

The descriptive analytical approach was used in examining books, periodicals, and publications of Islamic conferences, and Law No.

(1) of 2005 regarding banks which as amended by Law No.

(46) of 2012 AD.

A questionnaire consisting of three parts was designed.

The first part includes information about the study sample and the second consists of (18) paragraphs covering the aspects related to the commitment of Libyan Islamic banks to the rules and regulations of Sharia work.

The third is about the observations of the study sample.

140 questionnaires were distributed, of which 137 were received completed.

The data were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods, which showed that the banks investigated in this study were operating in accordance with the provisions of Chapter IV related to the provisions of Islamic banks of Law No.

(46) of 2012 AD.

Moreover, Murabaha contracts are the most used during this period due to the inability of dealing with other Sharia formats Such as leases, peace contracts, Istisna'a, lease ending with ownership, and operating leases.
