This research aims to root the right of freedom as stated in the Islamic law through a statement about Muslims' contemporary intellectual systems that tackle the concepts of freedom.

therefore, the researcher rooted the concept of freedom among the jurists, among the Sufis, and among the scholars of theology.

the research showed that Muslims were not greatly affected by the ideas of Greek philosophy and their writings about freedom were before translating this philosophy into Arabic.

the researcher mentioned as well that the divisions of contemporary freedom were present in the Islamic thought such as religious freedom, freedom of thought and opinion, political freedom, and personal freedom.

in addition, the research is a respond to the author of the book entitled (the concept of freedom in Islam) which lacks a clear definition of the freedom inherent in Islamic thought, therefore, his book was far from this concept with which.it was titled.
