The research aims to evaluate financial derivatives as one of the modern methods used in risk management in banks and their role in that while identifying the most appropriate tools to face financial risks.

the research also aims to prove the existence of a positive effect of financial derivatives on risk management in banks, and the study concluded that the activation of financial derivatives develops the capabilities of banks in preserving and developing the rights of shareholders, and the importance of each financial derivative tool differs according to the purpose of its use.

it also helps banks to hedge financially.

a case study of Alahli bank was adopted during the years (2008-2018), and it was concluded that the derivatives had a positive impact on risk management.
