Recent years have witnessed a remarkable interest from the Egyptian state in empowering people with special needs, as mobile phone applications are not limited to ordinary individuals only, but there are applications that are directed and dedicated to helping people with special needs.

the study aims to test the effectiveness of some mobile phone applications intended for them, and their impact on raising the level of psychological security, among an experimental sample of students with visual impairments.

experimental approach was used and relied upon using the one-group experimental design.

the study population consisted of Beni Suef University students with special needs and visual impairments, where 6 students (4 males-2 females) were chosen by the intentional method, as some conditions were taken into account in their selection, which is that they have low scores in the psychological security scale, and that they are not the students of the experimental group had previously been exposed to mobile phone applications intended for them as a study sample.

the study used Maslow's theory of human needs was employed to measure the level of psychological security for a sample of respondents with visual impairment.

the results of the study showed that the mobile phone applications of the study sample increased their sense of independence and self-reliance among the experimental group members.

moreover, it was found through the observations of the respondents that their psychological state changed after using these applications, and they felt happy, comfortable, and calm, which shows the effectiveness of the applications in helping them feel safer and psychologically comfortable.
