Demographic insights into emotional intelligence and citizenship values among Saudi Arabian females

Abstract EN

The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship among emotional intelligence (EI) and citizenship values among females of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

additionally, the study will also attempt to identify the relationship of the two variables with demographics i.e., age, marital status, and family income level of participants.

the four dimensions of citizenship behavior under study were the values of national belonging, respecting laws and regulation, social responsibility, and tolerance.

a survey questionnaire in google form format was sent to the female students of King Abdulaziz University; 104 students responded.

the study used SMARTPLS software for data analysis and regression analysis was undertaken to find the association between EI and the citizenship values.

the result shows a significant relationship among El and Citizenship values.

married respondents were found to possess higher El levels and higher level of citizenship value of tolerance.

neither age nor socio-economic status was associated with El and citizenship values.

the findings suggest that there is a significant relationship among emotional intelligence and citizenship values.

it can be concluded that citizens with high emotional intelligence tends to possess high citizenship values.
