The aim of the current research is to identify the nature of phonological processes disorder in children with specific language impairment, and to achieve the goal of the research, the researcher med the descriptive analytical approach.

and the research sample included (42) children with a delay in specific language impairment, 29 of them were males, and 13 were females.

those receiving speech and language therapy at Resala center, their ages ranged between (3-9) years, and they were of average intelligence.

their IQ ranged between (110-90) based on their records.

the researcher used tools: a scale Stanford Binet, the Fifth picture, Arabization and codification (Abu el-Nil, Taha, and Abdal-Samis, 2011), and the modified test for the development of language functions, second edd, prepared by (Rifai, 2020), and the results of the research on the modified test for the development of language functions, reported that there are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of males and females, just as there are no statistically significant differences between the averages of the ranks of males and females.

the research also found that phonological processes disorder are caused in terms of the percentage of their occurrence among the children of the sample as follows: (replacement unvoiced-slipping and sound bite (r) came in the first place, then (weak syllable deletion-cluster reduction fronting glottal replacement) came in second place, then (final consonant delete syllabic repetition-assimilation processes-stopping) came last.
