Abstract EN

Objective: The main objective of this study is to identify the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on Bahraini families' social relationships, through a social field study consisting of a sample from families in Bahraini community.

Methods: The study is based on selecting a specific sample of household heads in the Bahraini community, using a non-random method, consisting of 182 individuals.

An electronic questionnaire was used to collect the field data, and methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis of the field data were used, depending on the statistical analysis program (SPSS).

Results: The majority of respondents confirmed that the crisis has in general created the belief among the families that home quarantine was and still is in the best interest of the family and society.

Also, because of continuous quarantine periods, many family members developed an interest in becoming addicted to the Internet and the various social media platforms, as they play an important role in achieving communication and interaction with others like friends, relatives and colleagues.

Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic had clear impacts on the Bahraini family and on the patterns of social family relationships.
