The beginning of the fifties of the twentieth century witnessed the growing role of the communist bloc and the escalation of patriotism in Iraq, as a result of the defeat suffered by the Arab armies in the Arab-Israeli war.

Then Britain began to put pressure on the new Iraqi government that was formed in February 1950 headed by Tawfiq Al Suwaidi, which made the Iraqi communist party to reorganizing itself and practicing its activity according to the political changes that this stage has witnessed.

On the other hand Britain increased its pressure on the Iraqi government to limit the expansion of the activities of the communist movement, and encouraged the government to carry out arrest campaigns for the communists, after the Communist Party succeeded to move the Iraqi street against Britain's plans and interests in Iraq.
