Poetry, since its early ages, has expressed the poets' feelings, thoughts, emotions and feelings, and perhaps fear is one of those feelings that poets experienced, especially since fear is closely related to what affects the human soul so that it makes it feel safe and secure or fear and dread, and this is what prompts poets to express about those positions; it is related to unknown events hidden by time, and this feeling is often associated with every person whose life is characterized by instability and turmoil.

i tried to focus on this phenomenon according to one of the poets of the second Abbasid era, Abu al-Ala al-Maari (363-449 ah).

because i found in his poetry something related to his shaky, turbulent and turbulent psyche, which might befall it#** in my research, i thought of dividing it according to different motives : among them the political : fear of authority falls under it, and the social one : which includes fear of others and what was common in his time of treachery, gossip, hypocrisy and hypocrisy, including psychological : and includes fear of god (almighty and glorious is he).

likewise, the fear of death and the punishment of the hereafter, as well as the fear of what eternity has hidden.

the aforementioned motives are invisible signs by which the poet expresses a situation he has gone through, or to show what he has mixed inside him from the turbulent feeling between consciousness and subconsciousness, and then the poet unleashes his imagination to depict the state of panic and fear that managed to him.
