The idea of this research paper concerns compiling and presenting shariah-based foundational principles that a researcher must rely on and utilize when studying other religions.

this is for him to exercise discernment during his research and be precise in his scholarly work as he either adopts or critiques certain positions.

thus, this research paper adopts a dual approach, which is critical in highlighting which principles one must be wary and steer clear of and constructive in providing the researcher with shariah-based foundational principles he must rely on while studying other religions.

i have relied on inductive, comparative, and critical methodological approaches in this research paper.

i have concluded this research paper with several findings, among them being : the importance of being concerned with shariah-based foundational principles for all sciences, along with the great number of shariah-related implications connected to the study of the science of religions.

it was also concluded that it is essential to be wary and critical of modern western methods of studying religions and dedicating a critical study focused on each of their methods.
