Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the perceptions of faculty members in Saudi Universities about interdisciplinary majors, and to search for the most prominent problems that result from inconsistency between educational majors and professional jobs, and then to identify the success factors of interdisciplinary majors.

the study followed the descriptive approach, and the questionnaire was a tool for the study.

it was applied to a random sample of faculty members in the faculties of education at King Abdulaziz University and King Faisal University, and it reached several results, most notably the provision of advanced academic programs that allow the student to possess scientific and professional competence to contribute to the enrichment of advanced knowledge, introducing new trends characterized by the interface of specializations according to the 2030 vision of the labor market framework in response to its complex needs, the imbalance of supply and demand between the large number of people wishing to join the labor market, the lack of available job opportunities suitable for their specializations, conducting an exploratory study of the opinion of the labor market and all those concerned with the graduates of the program and the extent the need to introduce the interdisciplinary specialization for which the program was established.
