Abstract EN

Agricultural imports are one of the important economic activities in Iraq, through the role they play in providing agricultural and food commodities to fill the deficit in agricultural products and secure the increase in demand for these products and bridge the gap between supply and demand due to the increase in the population and the high standard of living of citizens as well For providing agricultural raw materials needed in the agricultural production process.

The study dealt with the impact of the imports of the agricultural sector on the agricultural domestic product in Iraq during the period (2004-2020).

The study focuses attention on rehabilitating major agricultural projects dedicated to agricultural production and optimizing the use of natural resources that abound in Iraq by doubling agricultural and animal production, in order to secure local demand and achieve production surpluses allocated for export.

The study also recommended the importance of completing the infrastructure of the agricultural sector
