Abstract EN

The research aims to reveal the extent and impact of violent extremism in its various forms on the societal security system in Iraq, and to know the nature of the internal and external stimuli and influences that contributed to the consolidation of this phenomenon, and led to the perversion of thinking among members of society, particularly the younger generations, and prompted the adoption of extremist ideas and behaviors that threatened the state of peaceful coexistence.

What distinguished Iraqi society in the past is that the spread of the power of these ideas and practices contributed to the increase in the strength of extremists' control over their different orientations, in return for the decline in the strength of the law and its capabilities in limiting their influence on internal security; Therefore, the issue of eliminating the manifestations of violent extremism is necessary, but it requires a strong, rational and balanced political will, supported by the community through the community's participation in the collective responsibility to combat this phenomenon along with the state and its institutions concerned in this regard.

It will lead towards the success of the national strategy to combat violent extremism, enhance social cohesion, and establish the language of dialogue and peaceful coexistence in a .sustainable manner
