This study deals with the issue of Taiwan, which is one of the importanttopics that Chinese policy has given great attention to since the 1940s, seeking to annex and re-unify it with the motherland of China.

This study showsthe importance of Taiwan in the Chinese strategic perspective, as well as its positionin Sino-American relations given its strategic importance for both of them; a factthat accentuated China's unremitting efforts to integrate Taiwan into the mainlandthrough various mechanisms and means working in combination towards reunification.

Accordingly, the question of whether 2049, the centenary of thefounding of the current China, would be the year to complete the achievement of aunified China after annexation of Hong Kong and Macao Island, as well as Taiwanarises.

In the conclusion, the study indicates that Taiwan is of a great importancein the Chinese strategic perception, which makes the hypothesis of China's retreatfrom incorporating Taiwan into its mainland inconceivable.

Therefore, Chinawill be striving to make re-unification and incorporation real through a patient, multi-dimensional strategy that has characterized China's foreign policy in recentdecades.
