The study aims to know the changes in the vegetative cover in Dhi Qar Governorate for the period 1970-2020.

The study showed that the arable areas amounted to 1,243,573 dunums in the year 2000, while the uncultivable area for the same year amounted to 5103792 dunums, and the arable areas amounted to 2530879 dunums for the year 2020, and the non-arable areas amounted to There is a temporal and spatial variation in the cultivation of all crops, as well as the decline or absence of some crops from the agricultural plan of the governorate, especially wheat and barley crops, with a decrease in the cultivated areas of rice, maize and palm trees.
