This research paper sheds light on the Arabic linguistic atlas between the theorizing mechanism and the challenge of application.

The concept of the linguistic atlas, being the result of research in geo-linguistics, is defined as the image in which languages and dialects are presented according to cartographic clues showing the place of spread of each language and dialect.

The linguistic map, which first appeared in the West, is considered the best way to display the results of descriptive linguistics in a given language.

The emergence of some Arab attempts that worked on theorizing a linguistic atlas - Arabic - and applying it in the linguistic reality aimed to serve the Arabic language, keep pace with the developments of linguistic theory and to facilitate research.
