Abstract EN

This research browses the positions of revealed and natural religions on suicide through theirholy scripts.

The purposes of this research are illustrating the role of religion in preserving human lives from destruction during struggles of life and psychological pressure and comparing the instructions of different religions on the matter .This research starts with a glimpse of the view of religion on human life value particularly the Islamic view .Then it defines the concept of suicide.

Afterward, it tackles the positions of religions one at a time.

It starts with positions of revealed religions : Judaism, Christianity, and Islam ;then it ends with the natural religions : Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Confucianism, Taoism,Shinto,and Zoroastrianism .This research involves a brief critique of some views that fall within the limits of the research scope.
