Abstract EN

This study is concerned with researching the semiotic mechanisms used by Muhammad Arkoun in analyzing the holy Qur'an-the prophetic discourse in the Arkouni concept-and there is no doubt that this strict scientific-semiotic-procedure puts the sacred Qur'anic text in an absolute epistemological break with what was produced by the ancient Arab-Islamic-civilization.

hence, the importance of this research lies, as it is a methodological step by which Muhammad Arkoun transcends the fundamentalist and doctrinal controls according to which the interpretation process takes place, and this is not possible unless the doctrinal and dogmatic fences surrounding the text are destroyed.

and looking at it to dismantle its different and disparate perceptions with its different intellectual references and complex cognitive backgrounds.
