Talking about the Algerian national identity was and as yet a subject of discussion since the early years of the French invasion until today, but with a difference in the proposal, because this issue has acquired great importance and formed the basis of the resistance against French colonialism, which sought to obliterate it by all possible means.

when we talk about the armed national resistance in its official and popular parts, and the political resistance in its various manifestations, we see clear signs indicating the interest of the leaders of the national movement in this aspect.

Constantine the Muslims in 1887, was presented for discussion at the colonial administration table in a period characterized by a relentless French effort to destroy the foundations of the Algerian identity and obliterate its features in thought and action.
