Abstract EN

This research studies the Algerian contemporary narrative text, through two sets of stories; which have been carefully selected in titled «innovation of pain» written by Mohamed Djafer, and «face on the edge» written by Ahmed Taibaoui.

the development and progression of the facts of these two novels are based on two axes, namely: questions of writing and the idea of formulation.

indeed, the purpose of this study is to understand the structural particularity which characterizes the art of narration in terms of its artistic mechanisms and means of expression to develop its semantics, styles and methods in order to make the receiver an integral part of the creative operation.

this study tries to avoid the theoretical way, as much as possible, while presenting the notions and terminologies of criticism, in the absence of an in-depth analysis of the studied texts.

in fact, this method is frequently used in literary studies.

as a result, this method made this study critical rather than analytical.

however, this does not mean the exclusion of the comprehensive process, because it indicates the fact of limiting oneself to expose the basics that are more fundamental in view of this study, and to explain those possibly mentioned in the margin.
