In this article we dealt with the duality of ego and the other in a novel ""Roat arcadia" by Mohamed FITILINA, where the focus was on the concepts of ego and the other while observing their appearance according to the personalities of this novel, and the other attitudes towards the ego on one hand, and on itself, on the other hand.

let us conclude that the narrative of "Roat arcadia" shattered the stereotyped image that took root in Algerians' minds about the French other who rejects the ego, as it appeared in positions that he accepts the ego, in solidarity with him, in support of him, and between the acceptance of the Algerian ego, the French other, and fascination with him at times, and his rejection at other times.
