this principle has found application grounds during several lawsuits and in several international treaties as it aims to prevent damaging the environment by taking all possible measures to prevent environmental degradation.

therefore, this principle is in fact a new aspect that embodies the evolution that has characterized the international environmental law, because the environmental protection is not a goal sought only in peacetime.
