Although electoral systems differ from one political system to another, their impact on political life remains strong.

this is related to the form of the electoral system, the extent of its constitutionality, the various regulatory and administrative bodies that govern it, the representational dimension, and the values of political and social pluralism.

Algeria sought to ensure the actual exercise of the right to run and vote by adopting an electoral system that takes into account the specificity of the society's environment and guarantees gender equality, on the basis that the importance of the electoral process in democratic systems comes from the ability of the electoral system to expand public participation and political representation.

within the framework of the state's adoption of the slogan of democracy and the implementation of the commandments of international bodies, it was necessary to constitutionalize and codify the gender approach in the electoral process, and despite this, Algerian women obtained unsatisfactory results, due to several obstacles, most notably legal and social ones.
