This paper highlights the importance of the pharmaceutical industries in North African countries in maintaining the public health of the population and as an important source for achieving significant added value at the level of national income, whether by exporting or by direct investment in foreign markets.

proceeding from this importance, the North African countries have attached great importance to this sector and classified it within the strategic sectors in their national policies, and have been able to form an important industrial base consisting of a group of production units that seek to raise the levels of coverage of the local market for pharmaceutical products.

the paper also deals with the features of drug industry policies in North African countries and the most important initiatives that have been launched, whether in terms of offering vaccines or developing existing treatments to confront the emerging virus.
